HELPING HANDS MINISTRY

“He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he
who is kind to the needy.”

Proverbs 13:21

Helping Hands is a faith based non-profit organization focused on meeting the needs of people in the local community in order to share the love of Jesus Christ. For more information about Helping Hands, visit their website.

Jesus said, “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink,
I was a stranger and you took me in, I was naked and you clothed me”
—Matthew 25:35-36

Helping Hands is in need of canned and bagged goods. Please bring your cans and bags to the sanctuary or the office of FUMC Belton, and we will take them to the Helping Hands food pantry when we get several bags and cans collected. Each month, FUMC Belton collects specific items that are needed by the pantry.

JANUARY IS SOUPER BOWL MONTH

Every year in January our church sponsors the ‘Souper Bowl” to help resupply our community pantry so we can continue to help those who are hungry have food on their table. Each Sunday during the month of January and until February 5th, we ask our congregation to bring canned stew, soup, chili, or items they would use in a recipe to make them such as canned tomatoes, vegetables, etc.

Our goal this year is to collect at least 2012 canned goods or non perishable food items.
