MISSION TRIP |
Elizabeth White is now on her "World Race Mission Trip" where she will cover 11 countries in 11 months doing a variety of missionary works along the way. This is a picture of Liz and her team called Team Cannonball. Liz says they are awesome and she can’t wait to live with them possibly for the next eight months. She would love it if everyone would pray for her team, for unity, for vulnerability, for love for each other, etc. Liz has written a blog about her team entitled Team Cannonball.

In August, she and her team went to Kakamega, Kenya. It is located in Western Kenya close to Lake Victoria. She worked with Logos Celebration Ministries International. She did everything from house to house evangelism, hospital ministry, children's ministry, mercy ministry, teaching, to church planting.

In September, her team and another team named Tuna Moto were in Mbarara, Uganda to work with All Souls for Christ International Ministry. The twelve of them lived at an orphanage/ school/church named Adullam Model Orphange.

In October, she and her team were in Kabuga, Rwanda near Kigali, Rwanda, the capital of Rwanda. All of the teams were located in Kigali or just outside Kigali. While they are there they taught English to children and adults.

After leaving Rwanda, their entire squad met up outside of Kampala, the capital of Uganda, for a few days of debrief. It was awesome catching up with everyone.
In November, she and her team left Africa and traveled to Southeast Asia to Manila in the Philippines. They stayed there for 6 weeks instead of just a month.
Liz decided to work with Josie's Angels. The daughter of their contact started a ministry for the girls in the community that they lived in. They did Bible studies twice a week and also took shifts spending time at the girls' home.

On December 16th, Liz and her team went to Thailand. They met with some AIM (Adeventures in Missions) staff for debrief. Then the guys went to their "manistry" location in Kanchanaburi, and the girls went to their location in Phuket.
Liz's team, along with two other teams, worked with SHE (Self Help and Empowerment). They work in the Red Light District on Bangla Road and love on the prostitutes there.

On January 14th, Liz and her team went to Takeo Province in Cambodia. They worked at Teen Challenge, a place where boys go to recover from addiction. They also have a girls home, which is where the all girls team went. They taught Bible, English, music, sports and agriculture every day.

On February 4th, Liz and her team went to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Soon after their arrival, Liz sent another letter. To read it, click here.
This month, they had a pretty free and open schedule. They went house to house and invited people to church and taught English lessons for children in a predominately Muslim neighborhood. It was exhausting. Their responses were one extreme or the other. People were either very welcoming and kind, or they didn't want anything to do with them. In their free time they went to a park to spend time with the people there and offered English classes for anyone who wanted them.

On February 26th, Liz and her team travelled to Harbin, China. Harbin is nicknamed "The Ice City." It is located at 45 degrees North Latitude, half way from the equator to the North Pole. The warmest it got while they were there was 23 degrees. It snowed about half the days they were there. They spent around 3 weeks in China. Two weeks doing ministry with their contacts and several days in Beijing for their squad's 8th month debrief.

On March 21st, Liz and her team travelled to Kiev, Ukraine for a few days. Then they went to Odessa in the south close to the Black Sea. Liz and her team did college ministry there. They spent a lot of time on college campuses. They did a program called "tea for cigs," where they traded tea for cigarettes. Liz was the official tea lady for it.

On April 22nd, Liz and her team traveled to Draganesti-Olt, Romania. To see a time table of their journey, click here. They are working with church planting and reaching out to the area they live in. Less than one percent of the population is Christian.
