Dear Church Family,
Thank you to Lisa Grant for her service and ministry as our Children’s Director. She has cared for our children in many ways. From coordinating Children’s Church and Sunday School to directing LOGOS and Vacation Bible School, Lisa has also gotten our M.O.P.S. (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) group started, led Zumba classes and helped coordinate our Nursery. She has helped our children learn about Africa, Vietnam, other nations and missions. Her prayers and love for the children and this church have been constant. May God bless her and her family as they begin a new chapter in their lives.
Life is about change. As much as we might like things to remain the way they are, the only way to do that is to fossilize everything all at once. That simply is not going to happen. As Christians, we need to remember that without change there is no growth, there is no healing. If Christ had not died, there would have been no Resurrection. If our church never changes, we become irrelevant. Sometimes, we can manage the change. Other times, we have to react as best we can.
The first Easter was the biggest change that ever happened in this world. In these weeks following Easter, take some time to pray about our church and ask the question, “What needs to change for us to better serve the Lord?” The answer “Nothing” is not the right answer because while we are on the way to perfection, we have not yet arrived there. To make it even more personal, lencourage you to spend some time asking yourself “What needs to change about me so I can better serve the Lord?” If we will take the time to really listen, God will probably surprise us with God’s answers.
Grace and Peace,
Darren Walker
