Worship

At First United Methodist Church of Belton worship of God is central to our faith, our growth, and our discipleship.  All are welcome to experience a relevant message designed to create a closer relationship with Christ, for all of God’s people. To encounter a loving God, to be equipped, and to go out to change the world as a disciple of Christ.

8:30 am – Modern Worship

Start Sunday morning off in a lively style of service as we praise God
in a more casual and contemporary praise setting. Come as you are.
Expect candles, scripture, prayers, a relevant message led by Pastor Jeff Miller, and singing of current popular songs heard by Christian artists today which are led by our praise band. The Praise band consists of guitars, drums, keyboard, and singers.
The children are asked to come forward for a special Children’s Sermon with the Pastor.  This special mini-message is kid friendly and the Pastor often brings props or puppets to help bring the stories of the Bible alive.

10:45 am – Traditional Worship

Our 2nd Service features a more traditional theme with the Chancel Choir, piano and pipe organ assisting with this Worship experience.

This service features Hymns, Prayer, Psalms, Doxology, and a relevant message led by Pastor Jeff Miller.  It is also sign language interpreted.

Children’s Sermon

The children are asked to come forward for a special Children’s Sermon with the Pastor.  This special mini-message is kid friendly and the Pastor often brings props or puppets to help bring the stories of the Bible alive.

Children’s Church

Following the Children’s Sermon with the Pastor, the children follow an adult leader from the Sanctuary to the Children’s Church Room for a special Worship Service suited just for this age group.  They can experience Church in a “kid-size” friendly version designed just right for them.

The first Sunday of the month is Communion Sunday. There is no Children’s Church on that Sunday so Children can remain in the sanctuary to experience Communion with the church family.

The Traditional Service is Recorded on Audio CD

The 10:45 a.m. Traditional Worship Service is recorded on  an audio CD.  It is edited to remove dead air spots and copied so that people who could not make it to church can pick up a copy and listen to the service.  Copies of the service are taken to shut-ins and nursing homes by volunteers each week. If you know of someone who would enjoy listening to the services, please let Carol Scherer know by calling the church office at 939-5703.

We are a family church where all God’s people
are welcome in all of our services and events.

 Communion

Communion is offered on the 1st Sunday of each month and on other special observances.

 This is God’s table
everyone is welcome.

During Communion, we serve
grape juice instead of wine.
If parents feel their children are too small to receive Communion they may choose to receive a blessing.
