Connecting to Generosity (Extravagant Generosity)
Matthew 26:6-13

Are we willing to give at the level of the woman with a jar of perfume? She demonstrates generosity that draws her closer to Christ. Our giving is to draw us closer to Christ.
Memory Verse:
Luke 6:38
Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults—unless, of course, you want the same treatment. Don’t condemn those who are down; that hardness can boomerang. Be easy on people; you’ll find life a lot easier. Give away your life; you’ll find life given back, but not merely given back—given back with bonus and blessing. Giving, not getting, is the way. Generosity begets generosity.”
Reflect on:
- 1) How has someone else’s generosity touched you and shaped your practice of giving?
- 2) What’s the most fun you’ve ever had giving money?
Challenge…
Give a tithing of comfort and joy—that is, give a tithe (10%) of the amount you spend on Christmas gifts to the church and for the Special Christmas Eve offering.
