Sewing Ministry

We have a Sewing Ministry here at our church.  This is for anyone that sews, knits, crochets or just wants to get together!

We meet in the basement from 10:00am to noon on the 4th Monday of every month.

At this time, we have several projects in the works; fidget blankets for Alzheimer patients, pillowcase dresses, tote bags for the homeless, and stuffed animals for the police department .

Whew!  Busy people!

   Mission Statement:
FUMC has a volunteer ministry whose mission is to sew a thread of God’s love into the hearts of people.

Please send an email to Paulette Whitfield at pjwhit97@gmail.com or Janet Jordan at djordan102830@prodigy.net if you have any questions.

Anyone is welcome to join us!
You don’t have to have sewing skills.  We will teach you if you want to learn or you can cut out patterns, iron, do hand work or just visit with us!  Do you crochet, knit, do needlepoint?  Bring your project!  You also don’t have to stay the whole 2 – 3 hours.  We have a couple of sewing machines people can use, you may bring your own or donate one you no longer use.
We donated approximately 200 dresses and shorts to Helping Hands.

We made the news!!! The Temple Daily Telegram came and visited our sewists.  Check out the article here.
