Volunteer

We are not asking you to volunteer weekly, we are asking you to add your name to a rotation of volunteers for each position—maybe once a month, maybe once every two months depending on the need.

We will never ask you to do volunteer work that you are uncomfortable doing and we will always provide full training for each position.

Take a minute to read over the opportunities that we have to offer. We are sure there is a niche waiting just for you!

At Belton FUMC:

  • Sound, Camera, and Visual members are needed on Sundays!

    8:30 a.m.: Sound and Visual

    10:30 a.m.: Brunch A/V

    10:45 a.m.: Sound, Visual, Camera

No previous knowledge is required, you will be trained on a specific portion of the A/V set-up. You will receive extensive training and will not be asked to work a worship service until you are fully comfortable doing so!

  • You are invited to sing with the choir for the Christmas Cantata. Let’s join our voices together to share the Christmas story this year.

  • Both the Children’s Ministry and the Youth Ministry require volunteers. These positions usually occur on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.

There are other times throughout the year when volunteers are needed, but those are the usual times.

Volunteers would assist the Director in teaching the children/youth about God, help with crafts, play games, explain scripture, etc. If you would be interested in helping out in these very important ministries,

please call the church at 254-939-5703 or contact:

Jessica (Children's Director) at ChildrensMinistry@BeltonFUMC.org or

    Jon (Youth Director) at StudentMinistry@BeltonFUMC.org

  • Volunteer opportunities in the church office:

We could use a few more volunteers to help with our weekly deposits. Deposits are usually done on Monday

mornings and take no more than an hour. Team members are only scheduled for once a month.

Vendor Filing (once a month is sufficient )

Weekly Deposit Team (usually once a month)

Shredding of Documents (on your schedule).

Contact Elizabeth at Business@BeltonFUMC.org or call

    In the Family Life Center

We feed 200+ students each week!

    Volunteers are always needed.

The College Lunch Ministry is in need of some very specific volunteers. We began using paper plates for College

Lunch on a regular basis in the Fall of 2022, because of COVID-19. We have had go continue using them because our

volunteer dishwashers are no longer able to safely lift the heavy trays of "real" plates in and out of the dishwasher. We

are in need of volunteers who are physically able to lift and handle the trays of plates so we can begin using our "real"

plates again. Using paper plates has had a financial impact on us. To provide the heavy duty Paper plates we have to

use for our meals, we spend over $40.00 a week on paper plates. That's $160.00 a month that would otherwise be used

to pay for groceries. If you are able to safely lift 35-40 lbs. and would be interested in helping wash dishes for the

College Lunch Ministry, please contact Jack Sykes, at jsykes@mac.com or call the church office.

  • The very first person most guests encounter is the Ushers / Greeters. They are the ones who answer questions, give directions, and just really make a guest feel wanted and encouraged to return. Do you know how to smile? Shake hands? Be friendly? Then you already have all the necessary skills!

Contact Carol at MusicDirector@BeltonFUMC.org or 254-939-5703 for more information.

With the Community through BeFUMC:

  • This group makes sustainable washable menstrual hygiene kits. The kits are sent to needy areas where girls do not have what they need to manage their periods.

On our work days, we sew and serge flannel liners, sew shields and drawstring carry bags, and assemble kits.
