There’s a place for you to serve at BFUMC. Whether you feel called to hands-on mission work, supporting Sunday services and office ministries, sharing in our Congregational Care Team, giving through donations, or joining one of our outreach ministries, your time and gifts can make a real difference. We believe God calls each of us to offer our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness as we love our neighbors and grow together in faith.

College
Lunch
For over 20 years, BFUMC has provided a weekly lunch to UMHB students in our Family Life Center. This lunch welcomes approximately 200 students to our campus each week for a hot, homemade meal. Volunteers help prep, cook, clean, and welcome the students to our space every week. If you are interested in volunteering or donating to this ministry please reach out.

Outreach Ministries

Some current efforts include an Annual Angel Tree Program, Reunification Baskets, donation drives for ministry partners, and participation in Care Portal. They also select quarterly seasonal efforts to engage the church in mission work aligning with the needs of the community.

They offer home communion, maintain our prayer ministry, hold a weekly worship service at Park Place senior center, assist in visits for those who are hospitalized and homebound, make and deliver prayer shawls, and provide cards and meals to people in need.
Community Partners
Helping Hands
Helping Hands WebsiteHelping Hands Ministry was founded in 1995 by the Belton Ministers' Fellowship, an ecumenical gathering of local ministers, to serve the Belton community with a centralized food pantry. In the beginning, individuals from several local churches volunteered their time to serve 30 families in the basement of First United Methodist Church of Belton. The pantry later moved to First Christian Church in Belton, then eventually relocated to a house at 1009 West Avenue D. In November 2008, Helping Hands Ministry moved to its current location at 2210 Holland Road.
Today, Helping Hands Ministry continues to be supported by 24 local churches of many denominations. Each month, Helping Hands Ministry provides support to over 2,600 of our neighbors through the weekly commitment of more than 85 volunteers and staff.

Days for Girls
This group makes sustainable, washable menstrual hygiene kits. The kits are sent to areas where girls lack what they need to manage their periods. Having the kits allows for the restoration of dignity and decreases barriers to education. Kits include soap, washcloths, a pair of underwear, shields & liners and instructions for their use and care.
Kits have been sent around the world, most recently to Chiapas, Mexico, and Bolivia. On our work days, we sew and serge flannel liners, sew shields and drawstring carry bags, and assemble kits.
Kairos Prison Ministries

They learn they are forgiven, and they learn they are loved. It is truly a life changing, and often life saving experience.
volunteer time at the church
Worship Volunteers
Learn MoreWe utilize volunteers weekly during our worship services to run our A/V system, serve as liturgists, ushers, and communion servers, and help with pre-worship setup.
Church Office
Learn moreWe are looking for a few faithful and friendly church office volunteers to help support the everyday ministry of our congregation. Volunteers assist with answering phones, greeting visitors, preparing and writing memorial announcements, printing and mailing materials, and other simple but meaningful office tasks. These behind-the-scenes acts of service help our church run smoothly and ensure that every call, every family, and every detail is cared for with kindness and excellence.
Music
Our church utilizes volunteer musicians for our sanctuary choir, handbell ensemble, and special music occasions. Learn more about music at BFUMC by clicking below!
Children/Youth
We are excited to invite caring and committed adults to serve with our children and youth through Sunday School, special events, and retreats and trips throughout the year. Investing in the faith of the next generation is one of the most meaningful ways we live out our call to love and serve.
All volunteers are background checked and trained through MinistrySafe to ensure a safe, supportive environment for every child and student. Whether you feel called to teach, mentor, help lead games, chaperone trips, or simply show up with a listening ear, there is a place for your gifts in this ministry.
